Preparation & Handling
Our crabmeat is cooked and ready to eat. It must be kept cold and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Fresh crabmeat is delicious served cold, or it can be heated through. For a warm preparation, bake in a 400°F oven for four minutes. It is also perfect for making crab cakes or for adding to stuffing and casseroles. Crabmeat is a popular favorite served on crackers or baked into a puff pastry. Use our crabmeat to create fabulous appetizers for your next party occasion.

Item Details and Quality
Crabmeat from Gorton’s Fresh Seafood comes from the Jonah crab, which is indigenous to the North Atlantic Ocean. Similar in looks to its west coast cousin, the Dungeness crab, Jonah crabs are smaller, but offer meat that is just as delicious.
Crabmeat is ideal for crab cakes and other crabmeat recipes.
Recipe Inspiration
Crab Cakes by Joe Fish Seafood Restaurant

Ingredients:
3 lbs Crabmeat
1-1/2 tsp ground mustard
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
6 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
3 cups mayonnaise
3 eggs
3 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 cup red peppers, chopped
1 cup celery, diced
3 Tbsp fresh garlic, chopped
3 Tbsp Capers
1/2 bunch fresh parsley, chopped
4-1/2 cups oyster crackers, crushed

Directions:
1. Mix mustard, cayenne pepper, Old Bay Seasoning, mayonnaise, eggs and Worcestershire Sauce.
2. Add peppers, celery, garlic, capers and parsley mixing well.
3. Gently fold in crabmeat and crushed crackers.
4. Set in refrigerator for one hour.
5. Form into patties.
6. Place patties on greased cooking sheet. Arrange so not touching.
7. Bake in pre-heated 375ºF for 18-20 minutes - turning patties over after 10 minutes.
