Haddock is a favorite in Britain and New England.  Its delicate flakey texture is a delight to the taste buds and works well in a variety of recipes.
Say the phrase “fish & chips” in England, and most Brits will assume you mean haddock. This extremely light and flavorful fish is a favorite in Europe and Scandinavia. New Englanders in the United States have also developed a love for haddock. Dredging sliced haddock fillets in flour and frying is a popular way to enjoy this delectable fish. The delicate, white meat of the haddock turns extremely flaky and practically dissolves in your mouth. There are many other haddock recipes you can enjoy as well. Due to the versatility of this world-class favorite, you’ll also find haddock recipes that call for steaming, broiling, poaching, and more.
What's Included
When you order, you’ll receive 18-20 ounces of premium quality, fresh, boneless, skinless haddock fillets. Wrapped in butcher paper and sealed in clear, plastic bags.
Preparation & Handling
Your haddock fillets will be delivered fresh – not frozen – and should be refrigerated immediately upon arrival. Fresh haddock can be safely refrigerated for up to two days. Haddock can be frozen for up to 4 months but should not be refrozen once thawed. Haddock is extremely versatile and can be baked, broiled, fried, poached, or sautéed. Cook haddock for approximately 10 minutes per inch of thickness in a 450-degree oven. Due to its delicate texture, haddock is not recommended for grilling. To test for doneness when cooking any fish, insert a fork at the thickest point of the fish. Perfectly cooked fish is nearly opaque, should be very moist, and will flake easily with a fork. Fish that looks slightly dry is overcooked. Undercooked fish will look translucent and raw. If you have a meat thermometer, the internal temperature in the center of the fillet should reach 145ºF.
