We offer two shipping options for our seafood selections — FedEx Standard Overnight® and FedEx 2Day®

1. Fedex Standard Overnight®. All Live Lobster and fresh seafood selections (not frozen) must be shipped via Fedex Standard Overnight. Orders received before midnight Eastern Time Sunday through Thursday, will be shipped via FedEx Standard Overnight service the following business day. For example, if you place your order on Tuesday before midnight, it will be shipped on Wednesday and delivered on Thursday of the same week. Orders received after midnight Eastern Time will be shipped a day later.

2. FedEx 2Day®. All non-perishable and frozen selections will be shipped via FedEx 2Day unless FedEx Standard Overnight is specified instead. Orders received before midnight Eastern Time, Sunday through Thursday will be shipped on the second business day after the order is placed. For example, if you place your order on Monday before midnight Eastern Time, it will be shipped on Tuesday and delivered on Thursday of the same week.

Please note: To ensure maximum freshness, Gorton’s of Gloucester does not typically ship over weekends. We do, however, offer Saturday Service for an additional fee of $15 per order.

All orders ship out from Gorton's of Gloucester within 1-2 business days.

Please keep in mind that you may always specify a later delivery if you wish. Orders can be placed up to 120 days in advance.

All seafood orders are shipped via FedEx Express® to ensure maximum freshness. As delivery to Alaska and Hawaii may take 1-2 additional business days, Gorton’s of Gloucester can only ship to the 48 contiguous states.

Your order will be confirmed by email upon receipt. You will also receive notification when your order is shipped, including order-tracking information for your convenience.

Special options for FedEx Standard Overnight® ($10.95) or FedEx 2Day® delivery ($7.95) are available for Gift Certificates and Gloucester Harbor Prints.

Please be advised that the following restrictions apply to the sale of Maine Lobster Tails: In accordance with the laws set forth by several New England states, we are not able to ship Maine Lobster Tails to Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Gortons Fresh Seafood makes every effort to comply with both national and local laws that govern the seafood industry. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to you, and suggest that if you do want to send an order to one of these states that you choose one of our other lobster tail selections such as Rock Lobster Tails or Rock Lobster Turf and Tails, or any of our other live lobster or seafood offerings. Gift Certificates are sent via the USPS at no charge on the next business day after the order is received. Overnight delivery is available for $10.95 and two day for $7.95.

Gloucester Harbor art prints can be sent Overnight for $10.95 and two day delivery for $7.95.


Packaging

All orders are sent in specially-constructed shipping containers with gel packs or dry ice to keep your seafood cold. On occasion, additional insulation is used inside to protect your order. We take special care to keep live seafood products, such as clams and lobsters, alive on arrival. Each seafood item you order will have a product label complete with handling and storage information.

Availability

Due to ever changing weather and supply conditions out of our control, occasionally an item will become unavailable after an order is placed. Should that happen we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss substituting another item of equal or greater value, or changing the delivery timing.

Seafood products are very perishable. All our shipments are packed with ample refrigerant to maintain the product in average weather conditions for the shipping period (estimated conservatively to allow for some extra time). It is recommended that someone be available to receive shipments from Gorton's of Gloucester upon delivery, or shortly thereafter. If you are sending a gift to someone, please notify them when to expect the delivery. If no one is available, and the package is left unattended for an extended period (especially in hot climates), we cannot guarantee that the seafood will remain in good condition.

Upon receipt we recommend that you unpack the shipper contents as soon as possible and store the seafood in the refrigerator and/or freezer, as appropriate, to maintain optimum freshness. The shipping containers are not suitable for storing your product after receipt.

Please check the shipping address carefully for errors. We cannot guarantee shipments that FedEx is unable to deliver.

We will ship with your order a special seafood handling and preparation guide including our recipe collection that's filled with delicious ways to prepare your seafood. A shellfish guide and lobster bibs will also be included for live lobster and clam orders.

If you are not completely satisfied with your order – for any reason – we ask that you contact us within 24 hours of delivery. When appropriate, we will replace your purchase or refund your money, whichever you prefer.
