Gloucester, located on the peninsula called Cape Ann on the coast of Massachusetts, is a true fishing town, dating back to the 1600’s And no one knows more about cooking seafood than the local fishermen and their wives. This cookbook, written by the Fishermen’s Wives of Gloucester and the Cape Ann League of Women Voters, has a great collection of authentic seafood recipes. Reflecting the ethnic diversity of Cape Ann, there are many Mediterranean type dishes from local Portuguese and Italian families. There’s also a lot of traditional Yankee, old New England recipes as well. You’ll find the kind of recipes here that are about as close to “home cooking” as you can get.
We are lucky to have permission to share some of their wonderful recipes with you.
